Aspen Dental becomes lead sponsor for Danica Patrick
BUY TICKETS: See the Daytona 500 live! Stewart-Haas Racing and Aspen Dental expanded their partnership on Tuesday, with the dental company becoming the lead sponsor for Danica Patrick in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series . Aspen Dental will debut on the No. 10 Ford Fusion for the season-opening Daytona 500 on Feb. 26 and will be the primary sponsor for a double-digit slate of races, the team announced Tuesday. Aspen Dental has had a relationship with SHR since 2012, and Patrick has been aligned with the brand since 2014. Notably Patrick's car featured an Aspen Dental paint scheme in 2015 at Chicagoland Speedway in which the names of 2,200 veterans adorned it as part of the Healthy Mouth Movement, an initiative that has contributed $7.5 million in donated dentistry for veterans. "From the first time I visited Aspen Dental's headquarters in 2013, I was struck by their commitment to helping people and changing lives," Patrick said in a team release. "I love working with organizations that care about people, and teaming up with a group that has such an important mission -- breaking down barriers and helping patients get the dental care they need -- is very rewarding." This will be Patrick's fifth full-time season in a premier series ride for SHR; one of her highlights was winning the pole for the 2013 Daytona 500 . "Our commitment to Danica Patrick goes back almost four years and our relationship with SHR even further," said Bob Fontana, chairman and CEO of Aspen Dental Management, Inc. "She is a strong advocate for the Aspen Dental brand and a wonderful ambassador for programs like the Healthy Mouth Movement." In addition to the Healthy Mouth Movement, Patrick's other work with Aspen Dental included "A Taste of the Future," a hidden-camera video campaign designed to raise awareness about the long-term consequences of delaying dental care. "Aspen Dental has been a great partner for Stewart-Haas Racing for many years," said Tony Stewart , co-owner for SHR. "We've both grown with this sponsorship and we know we can achieve even more thanks to their increased role with Danica and our No. 10 team." &lt;/p&gt;
Dover to expand SAFER barrier coverage
BUY TICKETS: See the Daytona 500 live! Dover International Speedway announced plans Monday to add approximately 1,800 feet of SAFER barrier, a project that will fully protect the 1-mile track's outside retaining wall with the energy-absorbing system. Construction is slated to begin in March, with the track indicating that all work will be complete before the Monster Mile plays host to all three NASCAR national series in its June 2-4 race weekend. That visit will be capped by the first of two Dover events this season for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series , the AAA 400 Drive for Autism. The Steel And Foam Energy Reduction (SAFER) barrier will now cover the outermost concrete retaining wall along the frontstretch and backstretch. That addition will include the crossover gates for track entry and exit. "Dover has really done a great job in making the facility as safe as possible for us as drivers," Team Penske driver Joey Logano said in a news release provided by the track. "The Monster Mile is an extremely fast track. For only being a one-mile track, the high-banked corners and concrete surface produce really high speeds and with that you increase the risk for heavier impacts. "As a driver I really appreciate the investment in safety. The initiative to add 1,800 feet of SAFER barrier to completely cover the outside walls is another great step." Dover's most recent SAFER barrier project was a nearly 500-foot addition at the exit of Turns 2 and 4. That work was completed ahead of NASCAR's most recent trip to the Delaware venue last October.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America, one of the most successful and popular charity rides in the country, today announced the route for its 23rd annual motorcycle trek. For the first time in almost a decade, the Ride led by former NASCAR driver and NBC Sports racing analyst Kyle Petty, will travel across the Pacific Northwest. With Manheim, North America's leading provider of used vehicle services, as returning presenting sponsor, the Ride will leave Portland, Oregon, on May 13 and arrive in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on May 19, covering eight states in seven days. Petty will lead 200 bikers on the weeklong, 2, 400 -mile route to raise funds and awareness for Victory Junction - a camp dedicated to providing life-changing camping experiences for children with chronic or life-threatening illnesses. This year, more than 20 first-time riders will join the dedicated team of men and women riding for the cause, along with new sponsors and a continued sense of passion. "It's pretty straightforward: every single mile we ride is for one cause, and that is to send chronically ill children to camp at Victory Junction at no cost to their families," said Petty. "The Ride is an enriching experience for everyone involved, and this year we'll be riding through some spectacular parts of the country like Mount Rushmore, and for the very first time the Columbia River Gorge." The Ride will see many of our country's historic landmarks including Yellowstone and Badlands National Parks; Bighorn National Forest; and the iconic Harley-Davidson Museum, the birthplace of the all-American motorcycle manufacturing company. Emblematic of the American open road, riders will also take in roadside attractions, including the world's largest ball of twine rolled by one man in Darwin, Minnesota. Fans are encouraged to come support the cause and greet riders at one of the Ride's seven overnight stops or daily pit stops. Spectators along the route may also purchase memorabilia or contribute to the Ride's "Small Change.
